What is an Aerated Wastewater Treatment System (AWTS)?

Riley Rural sources, installs and services Aerated Wastewater Treatment System (AWTS) across NSW and the ACT. An Aerated Wastewater Treatment System (AWTS) is designed to treat wastewater to a higher environmental standard on both a primary and secondary level, unlike a generic septic tank. John and Jason both have extensive experience sourcing, installing and servicing these types of wastewater systems, and the benefits they provide for residential and commercial  properties.

How does an Aerated Wastewater Treatment System (AWTS) Work?

Wastewater enters the system where solids are separated and settle at the bottom of the tank. They are retained in the tank forming a sludge layer, scum is collected at the top of this chamber. The partially clarified water is then moved to a second chamber where it is mixed with air. Aeration is crucial for a commercial residential sewerage system, because it allows aerobic biodegradation of the organic materials.
